Walk Watts | Watts is LA

a collaboration with architect, Jeanine Centuori

​

Walk Watts is a self-guided tour of both the well-known and lesser-known cultural sites in the community of Watts. It combines three integrated components involving sound, sight, and touch. Each of these components may be experienced separately while serving as a prompt to explore the other two components. Together, these 3 domains make for uniquely rich walking or driving tour experiences.

 

The three components are:

1. Sound | A downloadable app with stories titled HOLLA (Hear Our Local Legacy App)
2. Sight | Environmental graphics utilizing HOLLA as a call to action
3. Touch | A z-fold pocket map for navigation & promotional rack card

With the support of the Watts Labor Community Action Committee (WLCAC) and funded by the Agency for Civic Engagement at Woodbury University.
